Scherer Park construction at the site of the old Scherer Bros. Lumber facility in Northeast Minneapolis is well underway. At a whopping 10 acres, this site will be the single largest park addition in Minneapolis in years. This park, along with the adjacent Boom Island and B.F. Nelson Park will certainly be a great environmental amenity in an area that seen significant industrial influence for over 100 years.

Big things are planned for this site, including a kayak launch, public beach and restoring Hall’s Island.
